Twinflower Founder and Lead Consultant

Twinflower is led by Pier Duncan, an experienced chief of staff, public sector administrator, and tech sector people strategy and operations professional. With thirteen years of experience working in or alongside C-Suite-level leadership, Pier has designed and implemented critical mission-aligned solutions within organizations ranging in size, structure, and sector including Cash App, The Opportunity Network, Urban Institute, and the New York City Department of Education.

A passionate people person and problem solver, Pier enjoys collaborating with leaders to ignite the organizational transformation necessary to grow, scale, and maximize impact. Key initiatives for which Pier has been responsible in her current and past roles include:

  • Change management through rapid growth and leadership transitions

  • Priority-aligned annual planning and organizational roadmapping across cross-functional teams

  • Employee engagement and internal communications strategy

  • Middle and senior management team re-structure and development 

  • Board of Directors recruitment, governance, and engagement strategies

  • Executive communications and external-facing narratives

Pier is enthusiastic about inclusive practices, and in addition to having designed proprietary DEI programming, she has also completed a nine-month fellowship with The National Equity Project to deepen and expand her learning. Pier is also a published freelance writer.

Pier holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.S. in Nonprofit Management from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School. She resides in Brooklyn, NY.
